Visa and Travel Quiz: July visa bulletin, marriage visa, fiance visa, France tourist visa, k3 visa
by Gene Schwerman
Most people have heard of the travel visa, visa and travel to some countries go hand-in-hand. A France tourist visa is an example or as many people found out during the recent Olympics a Chinese tourist visa is a must for travel in China. A fair number of people know about a marriage visa, because they know someone who has married someone from another country, and therefore, needed a marriage visa. It is not hard to extrapolate from a marriage visa to a fiance visa. A fiance visa is a visa that can be acquired under the special circumstance of a proposal of marriage. But what is a k-3 visa? What is the July Visa bulletin? If you are a foreign-born American, do you need to know the answer to these questions? Which is easier to get a UK Visa or a Vietnam visa? Is it easier to get a work visa, or a business visa and what is the difference? If you have an Indian tourist visa, do you also need a US work visa in order to work in the US? Finally, as simply as an extra credit question, what is vis-a-vis or is it correctly spelled visa vie? And how would it be used in a sentence?
So for visa and travel we have pointed at the France tourist visa, but we could include the China travel visa the UK Visa, and the Vietnam visa as well. We could include many countries in this list, we will give you a fairly complete list of the countries that begin with the letter “a” and from there, perhaps, you can get a pretty good idea of the size of the entire list of travel visa countries: Afghanistan Visa, Albania Visa, Algeria Visa, American Samoa Visa, Andorra Visa, Angola Visa, Anguilla Visa, Antigua Barbuda Visa, Argentina Visa, Armenia Visa, Aruba Visa, Australia Visa, Azerbaijan Visa. I am quite sure you would have been sorely disappointed had I not offered here the pink kewpie doll for anyone who can name the country beginning with the letter a which I purposely left out of the above list.
Let us assume here a moderate level of intelligence and use of the English language and therefore let us assume that a marriage visa, and even a fiancee visa are pretty easy terms to understand. So what indeed is a k-3 visa? Would it help if we told you K-3 visa is also referred to as the K3 marriage visa? So perhaps we could leave K-3 visa for additional reading and move on to the truly ubiquitous July Visa bulletin. The July Visa bulletin is explained as follows on one .gov website: This bulletin summarizes the availability of immigrant numbers during July. Consular officers are required to report to the Department of State documentarily qualified applicants for numerically limited visas; the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security reports applicants for adjustment of status. For further reading, is there an August Visa bulletin and is it considered to be as august as the July Visa bulletin?
Finally, an Indian tourist visa addresses only a visit to the United States, as a tourist, it has nothing to do with the ability to work in the United States. That would require another visa altogether, vis-a-vis a US work Visa.
