Updating Your Computer For Gaming
by Victor Epand
Do you need to update your computer? Are you going to have to replace your motherboard in order to get that computer to run all those multi-media programs? How about all those high power memory sucking games that have come out? It seems that more and more games are coming out with more maps and more add-ons that take so much memory that 2-4 Megs are not enough. You may need to 8M in order to run both Vista and your games so what options do you have?
The first thing you must take into consideration is what kind of system do you absolutely have to have? Make a list of everything you do and the requirements that your computer must have for all of those programs/games. Then make another list of everything you would like to have on the computer of your dreams! Now start with a budget in mind, the least amount and the most that you can possible spend. After having all of your requirements and your budget, you can go on the Internet and start searching for the different components that you will need.
If you have a tight budget, then you may need to go to eBay and look or maybe Amazon. At Amazon, they have a very neat feature that you can use. After finding the correct component at Amazon, click on the component and up will pop several places this component can be bought through Amazon. Some of these dealers will be selling the merchandise used, while others will be selling the merchandise new. Of course, the used components are usually cheaper, but not always. Ebay will have individuals either selling new or used equipment.
Sometimes, you can find a person on Ebay that has just upgraded their computer system to a smoking hot one and will want to sell his old system very dirt cheap. Maybe this used system has to be tweaked some, but at least you would not have to start from scratch.I found other sites that are made just for individuals that make or repair computers. At these sites, not only will you find great prices; you will also find even better suggestions and great help. Some of these guys change up their computers as soon as the next new component comes out. They have no use for their older components and just want to get a little money out of them instead of throwing them away.
The only thing that you will have to be careful about is the quality of your components. At Ebay and Amazon, you have the protection that these two companies enforce. These two companies want to keep their reputations, thus their suppliers must only sell good quality, top notch supplies. At the forums and other groups where individuals sell their wares, you need to make sure that the forum or group will take some sort of action if you purchase a component for your new computer that does not work properly.
Computers are fun to put together and you will be able to build one to suit yourself. Have fun, stay within your budget and get the best components you can afford. You will then have a computer that is productive and fired up with enough gaming power to squelch the enemy or level up.
