The Good And Bad About Home Schooling
by John Simon
Nowadays, home schooling has become quite popular in the United States. With more and more families now trying to home school their children rather than send them to public schools, you will definitely think about home schooling your children too. However, you need to consider the fact that although home schooling has its advantages, there are also some several drawbacks that you need to remember.
Home schooling is basically not for everyone.
Although home schooling is legal in the country, you have to consider that it is still being debated whether home schooling can be beneficial for children. There are still a lot of controversies that opposes home schooling. So, here are some advantages and disadvantages of home schooling in order for you to decide whether it is for the best for your kids or if enrolling them to public schools will work a lot better.
The first benefit is that you, as a parent, will be able to keep your eyes on your child at all times. When you get them to public schools, you won’t really know what’s happening to your child there. You will often worry if they are really learning, if they are being bullied by other kids, or if they are behaving themselves.
Home schooling can also work for the benefit of children who are mentally or physically challenged. If you have a child who is mentally or physically challenged, which makes it impossible for them to attend normal public schools and that you don’t want to enroll them to specially designed schools then you will see that home schooling will benefit both the parents and the children.
Another great benefit is that because you know how your child learns, you will be able to set the pace for learning that will be favorable for your children. This means that there will be little pressure on how fast they should learn.
Because you will be the one to teach your child, you will be able to spend more time with them and make the bond between you and your child much stronger. This is another advantage of home schooling.
Although home schooling has these advantages, you have to consider the fact that there are also disadvantages to home schooling. Here are some of the disadvantages on home schooling that can help you decide whether home schooling is right for your child or not.
First of all, because the parents themselves will be the one to take over the teacher’s role, they may become too strict or too lenient on their kids.
Another disadvantage is that the child will be unable to socialize with other kids. Today, this is a very serious issue as children will grow up being shy with other people. Socialization is important. Unless you can let your kids play with other kids their age, home schooling can work for them.
Lastly, the academic knowledge of parents can also come in to question as well as their teaching skills.
As you can see, it is no wonder why home schooling is still being widely debated if it should be accepted or not.
All in all, you have to remember that before you decide to home school your children, always determine if you can compensate for the disadvantages of home schooling. If you can’t, then you may want to give up on the idea. However, home schooling is still a great way for children to learn.

The Truth Of A Two Year College Education
by Justin Sloan
Higher education in this country is rapidly becoming a necessity in the business community rather than a luxury. There was a time when those who had a high school education still had the opportunity to build a better world for themselves and their families. Those days are rapidly becoming another dieing ember of the past. If you hope to have significant earning potential during your lifetime you are almost completely limited by your learning potential and the level of education you have received.
The good news is that you do not have to have an all or nothing approach when it comes to education. You can begin by taking baby steps when it comes to higher education. If you have a community college in your area, this is one of the greatest resources for beginning your college education at any stage in your life. Most community colleges offer classes at various times during the day and evening, even some on Saturday in order to accommodate students of different ages and backgrounds.
Community colleges also offer an excellent opportunity to begin your learning quest in a manner that is much more easily affordable to the average citizen than a full-blown university. These colleges are largely commuter colleges though there are several that allow students the experience of living on a college campus at a much lower price than most major universities charge for the same or very similar privileges.
Community colleges also allow you to explore your options if you aren’t really sure what direction you wish for your education to take without paying such a high price for the process. If you know the career path you wish to take you might find a two-year degree program that can have you out of school and in a career much sooner than a four-year program will allow. If that isn’t good enough news for you, many of the two-year programs of study that are offered at the community college level may very well transfer quite easily into bachelor degree programs at the university level.
Community colleges offer an excellent start for many people who are seeking higher education whether to further their careers or just to find fulfillment on a personal level in life. There are many wonderful programs in vocational fields as well as academic fields that can be explored and studies on the community college level.
For graduating high school students community colleges help students ease into the adjustment from high school to college without going through the culture shock that some universities can put students through. You will find that there are often many opportunities to meet educational as well as social needs on the community college level for students that are interested in pursuing a community college education.
You should also discover that community colleges are much easier to budget when it comes to setting aside funds and savings for either your personal college education or the educational expenses of your children. Having them attend a community college for two years then transferring to a University can save a great deal of money and provide you a little piece of mind that your children are still receiving an excellent level of education.

The Disadvantages Of Attending A University
by Justin Sloan
We have discussed some of the wonderful advantages that university life and educations present. However, we must in turn discuss some of the other disadvantages that are associated with university learning as well. While we discuss these you should keep in mind that they do not by any means indicate that you should give up on your higher education goals, only that you should view your educational process with realistic expectations.
When compared with the community college system the very first and most distinctive disadvantage that comes to mind is the high cost of upper education on the university level. Community colleges are simply more cost effective all around than universities. The costs go well beyond that money that would be spent on room and board making the tuition alone cost prohibitive in many cases. While there are many types of financial aid available to students the vast majority of college students in this country make ends meet through the use of student loans, which must be repaid at quite a hefty interest rate, in order to cover the costs associated with university educations.
Beyond the one obvious disadvantage there are a few other disadvantages that bear mentioning in this particular circumstance. First of all, universities do not have the small intimate classroom settings that literally set community colleges apart. In fact, for lower level course, most universities offer large auditorium classes that are taught by graduate students rather than professors and more often than not the students never get to know those who are charged with their education on more than a nod and smile while passing in the halls basis. This method for learning is considered by many to be exceptionally inferior and the statistics prove that students who go straight into a four-year college environment rather than going through a community college first are far less likely to complete their degrees.
If that isn’t enough of a disadvantage, many people find that the impersonal atmosphere of most universities is quite limiting when it comes to interaction with other students. The smaller classroom environments of community colleges invite interaction between the students in the class. An open line of communication within the classroom is greatly preferred to having so many students that no one gets a voice or the ability to voice their opinions or personal experiences when it comes to certain topics.
Another disadvantage to university life is the sheer size of university campuses. Community colleges tend to be much more compact. This means that students have a fairly decent chance of making it to all classes on time and without the worry of walking 2 miles in ten minutes. While this is great for physical fitness, missing the first ten minutes of class each week can limit the educational process that your university experience should be providing. It seems like such a small thing on one hand but when you are hauling around a day’s worth of textbooks and a laptop–that hike can be the thing that marines seem dubious about accomplishing.
While there are a few distinctive disadvantages to university life, the fact remains that graduation from a university is the single biggest way to increase your earning potential over the course of your lifetime. The amounts are by no means insignificant. I highly recommend whenever possibly that you attend community college for the first two years of your college education. Beyond that, I strongly urge you to consider the value that completing your education and getting a four-year degree can provide.
If you wish to build self-confidence, earning potential, and job security, there is no way of doing so that is superior to getting a four-year degree. It doesn’t matter where you are in life or your career; it is never too late to begin getting your education. There are so many things in the world that a good education will open your eyes to in addition to the doors of opportunity a four-year degree will open.

World War 2 - The early days
by Richard McMunn
After the end of the Great War Hitler returned to Munich and remained in the army or the Reichswehr as it would be known. In his role as an Intelligence Commando, he would infiltrate a small political party known originally as the German Workers Party which would later be changed to the National Socialists German Workers Party (NSDAP). On inspection Hitler was impressed by the parties founder member Anton Drexler’s nationalists anti-Semitic, anti-Capitalist and anti-Marxist ideologies which favoured a strong government and a Non Jewish version of socialism. Drexler being impressed by Hitler’s oratory skills invited him to join the party, which he accepted and became the 55th member and the seventh associate of the executive committee.
In 1921 Hitler was discharged from the army and began to participate in the parties activities full time, becoming a master speaker in front of large crowds his words starting to have influence on his audiences, criticising rival politicians, The Treaty of Versailles, nationalists Marxists and the Jews. During 1921 Hitler travelled to Berlin to visit other Nationalist groups and gain support for the cause, in his absence a revolt took place within the leadership of NSDAP, sensing an opportunity to seize power Hitler quickly returned to Munich and tendered his resignation, when the party realised that the loss of Hitler would effectively result in the collapse of the party, Hitler the ultimate opportunist declared he would return under the condition that he would replace Drexler as the Party Chairman with unlimited powers, which infuriated many members but eventually they succumbed and put to the vote of the party members. Hitler received 543 votes for and only one against. At the next meeting of NSDAP on the 29th July 1921 Adolf Hitler was to be introduced as the New Fuhrer of the National Socialist German Workers Party.
With his new title Hitler continued his speeches criticising the Jews and Communists amoung others, as his popularity continued to grow, some influential faces were starting to attend his Beer hall speeches including Rudolf Hess, World War 1 Fighter ace Hermann Goring and Army Captain Ernst Rohm who would later become the head of the Nazi’s paramilitary group the SA (Storm Division) whom would be tasked with protecting the party’s meetings and attacking political opponents and enemies of the Nazi’s. Hitler was also starting to attract the attention of local business interests, being accepted into influential circles of Munich society, Where he would meet wartime army General Erich Lundendorff
On the evening of November 8th 1923 Hitler and Lundendorff implemented a plan known as the Beer Hall Putsch its purpose to start a revolution which would overthrow the government of the Weimar Republic.
The attempted Putsch inspired by Mussolini’s march on Rome, started when Hitler and a detachment of 600 SA marched on the Burgerbraukeller beer hall, the SA surrounded the building and a machine gun was set up facing the doors to the hall. At 8 30pm Hitler and some of his entourage burst through the doors where Gustav Ritter Von Kahr was delivering a speech to 3000 people and proclaimed ” The National Revolution has broken out “. During the night and much of the next day the city was in chaos, however by midmorning of the 9th it became evident that the Putsch was to fail and many were about to give up when Lundendorff cried “We will march” !, together with Hitler and Rohm’s forces a total of 2000 men marched towards the Bavarian Defence Ministry, however in front of the Feldherrenhalle the Nazi’s were met by a force of 100 soldiers, the two sides exchanged fire killing four soldiers and 16 Nazi supporters, in the barrage of Gunfire Hitler was injured, with the coup doomed to failure he quickly fled the scene, only to be arrested two days later and charged with High Treason.
