Ebook Creation: How to Turn Articles into an Ebook

Do you have articles that you already wrote for a marketing campaign or for an ezine? Do you have several pre-written blog posts that could all be related to a certain topic? Leverage the content in those articles by creating an e-book. Here’s how:

1. Take several articles or blog posts that are all related to the same topic.

Look over each of your articles previously written and find the ones that are related that could make up a nice topic for an e-book.

2. Organize them into an order that makes sense for your topic.

Unlike individual articles, an e-book needs to flow. If you were the reader learning about your topic, what would you need to read about first, second, final.

3. Each article will be a different chapter for your book.

If your articles are short, you may want to combine a couple into one chapter. Remember that chapters are generally longer than articles. Either combine a couple articles or make some articles longer to fit the book.

4. In many cases you can use the titles of the articles as the chapter headings.

If you look at most books, their chapter headings look like they could be article titles. The more enticing your chapter headings, the easier it will be to get your reader to read on. Just keep in mind the length of your heading. Try to keep chapter headings to one line or two lines at the most.

5. Place your headings into the Table of Contents.

Creating a Table of Contents helps you to see what you already have laid out for the book. Think of it as an outline. What areas might be missing? What might need to be added or moved?

6. Add additional chapters to fill in missing content.

Most likely you won’t have quite enough pre-written articles to fill a book. Decide what additional topics or steps in the learning process your reader will need to see to get the full picture of your topic.

7. Modify each article to add more value and content.

In most cases your articles may have just touched upon or introduced the subject matter of the chapter. In an e-book you will want to really show the how, why, where and when of your subject. Your reader has purchased your e-book in the hopes of learning something very substantial. Add content that will really explain your topic to your readers without leaving them hanging.

8. Add extra paragraphs to make the chapters flow nicely from one to the next.

Good books flow nicely from paragraph to paragraph, as well as from chapter to chapter. The ending of one chapter should be a lead in for the next chapter.

9. Add Copyright information, a title page, an About the Author page, and a cover image.

Make your e-book look real. The copyright is to ensure that no one can steal your content. The title page and cover image are to add a visual dimension and introduction to your book. The cover image will also help to serve as a means to sell your e-book. The About the Author page helps to spread the word about who you are and what qualifications you have to be able to write this book.

Learning to leverage your content is an important time-saving skill. Re-using content is a creative solution. Just make sure to modify the content slightly for your e-book and add the necessary components to ensure that your readers feel they are walking away with some newly learned knowledge or skills.

How To Market Successfully Using Ezine Advertising

April 28, 2009 · Filed Under Internet Business · Comment

If you are like most people just starting out with an Internet marketing business, you are probably either familiar with or being bombarded by several methods of marketing your business. There are free classified ad sites, pay per click advertising, and even social marketing using videos and social sites as modes for advertising to your target audience—just to name a few. However, there is one very consistent method of reaching millions of people currently on the Internet that sometimes gets missed…and that is ezine advertising.

Ezines, which is the slang used to describe electronic magazines, are email newsletters that are sent out regularly to subscribers. Since everyone who receives an ezine has subscribed to the magazine, they are more likely to read the articles as well as the ads, because it is a topic that they have a passion about. If you matched your product or service with a related ezine, then you have hit the mark, and are marketing straight to your target audience! There are nearly 100,000 ezines published every month, so it is extremely likely that there is an ezine that will fit your niche and get you the results you are looking for.

What is the best way to market successfully using ezines? Follow these tips and you will be well on your way to success! One of the most important marketing rules to follow here as with any marketing plan: track your advertising. If you submit your ad to several ezines and do not track them by specific magazine, you will not know which ones are getting response and which ones are just costing you money. This may take some time and a lot of trial by error, but once you find the ezine(s) that are getting the best results for your business, you will have a steady stream of customers. There are many software packages that will help you track this information.

Second, you will want to research ezines and find the ones that are most relevant to your business opportunity. Search the subject categories in any ezine directory for ones that are related to your business and note all of the relevant ezines you come up with.

Once you have your list of relevant ezines, subscribe to each one of them and do your research. Receiving the monthly newsletters for each of your potential ezines will allow you to review the existing ads in the magazine and determine the true focus of the audience. If you notice an ad showing up month after month, chances are the advertisement is creating results. This can be very telling of the subscribers. The other thing to look for is the volume of advertising in the magazine. If there are already 15 or more ads in the newsletter, chances are, your ad may get lost in the shuffle.

Next, once you have narrowed down your list based on your research, find out if there is a policy related to advertising within the ezine. Contact the publisher and ask if two ads for a similar product can be run in the same issue. If they do not allow that, you will know two things: that you will not have any competition if yours is the first ad of the type—or you will know that you may not be able to advertise with the ezine, if your competition beat you to the punch. This research will not further eliminate ezines from your list, but it will help you determine when you can and cannot run your ad with that magazine.

Lastly, you are now ready to formulate your ezine ad! Here are some tips for successful ezine ads:

1. offer something free

2. keep it short

3. use the word “you”

4. do not describe the product—but tell your customer what your product can do for them.

Remember that your customers are thinking “what is in it for me?”—so your ad should answer that question easily and simply.

SEO and Generating Traffic what you need to know

April 28, 2009 · Filed Under Internet Business · Comment

If you have a website whether brand new or existing you may be thinking about an SEO campaign. Before you get started there are a few things you need to think about. This article will give you some information about SEO and ways in which you can generate traffic to your website.

What is All the Hype?

You will probably hear a lot of buzz about SEO being free advertising and by doing it you will suddenly get a lot of traffic to your website that is looking to do business with you. This is partially true however all the buzz causes a lot of companies to spring up that are doing SEO and make various unfounded claims like:

1. They have special secrets that can help you get to the top of the search engines

2. They can guarantee you first page rankings for a very low cost

3. They will get you loads of high PageRank sites to link to you

4. They have a special relationship with Google or other search engine

If you are going to embark on an SEO campaign you need to be aware these kind of claims and make your own mind up about whether they are realistic or not.

SEO is not Free

Although when you are on the first page of the search engines you may be generating traffic it is not really free. To get your site there you either have to pay someone to do it or you need to put in a lot of work. Anyone serious about SEO should be spending some time everyday working on their campaign. If you work out how much your time costs you will be aware of the cost of your campaign.

SEO is not Easy

Many people look at SEO and see it as reasonably simple. However that is not the case and can be quite a complex analysis to work out what you need to do. You also need to remember that everyone around you is also trying to do the same thing which makes it even harder.

The Search Engines Might Not Want what you Want

The aim of every search engines is to give searchers the most relevant results for their search. So even though you might want to get on the first page you might not be what they are looking for. If the search engines are going to continue to do their jobs properly then you might have to change tact and go for different keywords to obtain top rankings.

Balance your Campaign

SEO is not the only way to generate traffic to your website and should not be 100% relied on. This is partly because there are no guarantees with the search engines and so you need to have your figure in other pies. For this reason you should work on various other ways of generating traffic to your website in order to gain publicity.

The biggest problem with the internet is that many people think that they can set up a website and then the people will come. Unfortunately this is not the case and you will need to invest a lot of time and money in bringing people to your site. You also need to remember that once they are there your site should be set up to convert as many people into sales as possible.

by Jason Trusler
The dream job for almost everyone today involves working for yourself and being your own boss. No matter what it is that you enjoy doing, answering to someone above you is probably not part of it. If you have worked in the corporate world for 2 years or for 20, you are most likely ready to try something that allows you more flexibility and offers you less strain. If you can relate to this statement, then you should look into at home jobs. Although you may not think that there are any enticing or stable jobs available that allow you to work from the comfort of your own home, but you will be surprised just how easy it is to find one! The most popular and widely available option for you to earn an income while maintaining your sanity and freedom is online jobs. Start your home based job today and learn what it means to truly enjoy a sense of pride while providing for your family’s needs!

One option to work from home on line is writing and submitting articles for websites. There are a lot of companies out there that will pay you to write articles for their web based businesses. By writing specific types of articles for their business you will be assisting them with SEO marketing or helping bring more traffic to their website. You can also write articles for different creative sites. These sites typically pay by the job only though, so if they do not accept your article, you won’t get paid for it. If you enjoying writing however, it may be to your benefit to try and submit some of your writing samples to these websites to see if you can get paid for any of them.

Another home based employment option is data entry and survey jobs. These jobs are also available on a case by case basis and can be time consuming, but are typically very easy to complete at home. With these types of positions you will usually connect with a company online that will send you data entry projects or surveys to complete on a regular basis. You can do a search online to find the companies that offer you the options that best suit your needs.

A third and most popular option is medical transcription. If you are at all interested in the medical field or have great typing skills, then you will be the perfect fit for this position. To become a medical transcriptionist you should first look into a certification course. You can typically find these online and they can be completed in a relatively small amount of time and without having to spend a fortune. Once you have certification under your belt, you will be able to begin your part time or full time position very quickly and start earning a steady income while never having to leave the comfort of your own home or having to worry about the constant attention of a supervisor.

If you need to provide a steady income for your family, but you are sick of having to get up early for that morning commute, wear a suit everyday or report to an overbearing supervisor, then you should consider some of the more popular home based options. You will be surprised just how easy it is to earn money right in the comfort of your own home. To find more tips on how to get started, go to http://www.topstayathomejobs.com

How do I pick up Profitable AdSense Keywords?

April 28, 2009 · Filed Under Internet Business · Comment

by Edgar Burt
Knowing how to find the best keywords for use in your Adsense ads is not a straightforward process. Finding and implementing high profit, low competition keywords in your ads really is the trick for making Adsense payoff big.

After I had tried several things to pick out good performing keywords, I wrote down this process that should yield profitable, low competition keywords for your Adsense ads. This process is not perfect, but when you analyze it and try it for yourself, you can see that it makes sense. Adsense that is.

Step 1
Research some keywords for your niche that have a high CPC value. To do this, first find your keywords using the Google Adwords keyword tool or another tool that will give you niche specific lists of keywords. Save those keywords into a spreadsheet program as a csv file. Copy and paste those keywords into Google’s Traffic Estimator (you will need an Adwords account). The traffic estimator will give you the estimated clicks per day and the average cost per click (CPC) for each keyword. Copy and paste this information back into your spreadsheet file for later reference.

Step 2
Multiply the average CPC by 30% to get an estimate of your maximum earnings per click. The higher the average CPC, the more likely the CPC for the 2nd - 8th positions are high as well. You want this higher average CPC to start because if the CPC starts to drop off significantly after the 3rd position, your chance of getting high click earnings as an Adsense publisher will be diminished.

Step 3
I use a tool called Adword Accelerator to help with estimating the 1st - 8th position CPC values. This tool will estimate the CPCs for each position and allow you to see how much the CPCs drop off after the first position. This dramatically helps your analysis for picking the most profitable keywords. If the CPC values stay close to the each other and to the value of the first position, then you will more than likely have a profitable keyword.

Step 4
Now determine which Adsense ads occupy which positions. You can do this by searching on Google for your keyword and looking to see which Adsense ads are generated in the search results and in which order they are. Another way to estimate this is to use the Adword Accelerator tool. It has a feature whereby Adwords ads are dynamically displayed for a given keyword you input into the tool to check. If the Adwords advertiser has used “Adwords for Content” in his advertising, these ads will be the Adsense ads someone else is displaying on their website.

Step 5
Compare the ads you found in step 4 to the results of using the keyword check function at the. If the advertisers you find by doing this closely match those you found in step 4, you will more than likely have a profitable keyword.

If the advertisers are not he same, then the advertiser is possibly not using the “Adwords for Content” mode of advertising in his campaigns. This means that the keyword may not be the basis for the Adsense ads and may not be profitable.

Step 6
Now you must get the traffic. If you decide to get traffic using the Adwords approach, then just use the keywords in your Adsense ads that scored well from the above evaluation. Then, use lower cost per click keywords in your Adwords ads. The difference between the earnings from the click you get on your Adsense word from the cost of the click you pay on your Adwords word will be your profit.

If you are planning to use search engine optimization techniques to get traffic to the website where your ads are, make sure the keywords you choose have the highest KEI possible. KEI is the ratio of the number of searches for a keyword to the number of competing sites having the keyword. The combination of a high KEI and a high score from the above evaluation will yield the best profit results.
